The Legacy House

"People don't die of a broken heart, love is our gift and we should take every opportunity to indulge in it,” said Cindy Olsen.

The passion of true spiritual love and the awakening that occurred following her husbands death, were the inspiration that led Cindy Olsen to take over her soul-mates business and continue his legacy.  In so doing she built "The Legacy" to honor both his integritous commitment to building quality in the Hamptons style, as well as his passion for building "homes not houses".

This is first made evident as you  approach "The Legacy". Its' 6,320 sq. ft. are not presented in your face, rather, they are humbly hidden behind the true cedar shake and lowered roof line of the front veranda witch spans the length of the home.  Far from austire- or new, rather unintimidating, serene and established.

Entering on the homes main floor you are drawn into the great room and dinning area, anchored by deep rich walnut floors and canopy'ed by a 13ft. barrel vault ceiling.  The space equally effective for a Saturday night dinner party, as a Sunday afternoon nap.

Throughout the home you are surrounded by a classic Knantucket  ambiance. White woodwork, antiques and reproductions carefully integrated among more modern conveniences.  Accessories and fabrics that demonstrate a collected, hand picked heritage, although the home is less than a year old.

For Linda, this home is a culmination of four years of getting to know the business through the people in it.

"We are a very personable, close company"  "Today I live my life as though every moment, were borrowed time, I appreciate how fragile life is".

Today, Rick Myers, Brian Shmidt, and Cindy Olsen build homes with a new found commitment and a deeper sense of dedication.

This home is not about me, It's about us," said Olsen.
